Annotations are definitions of dialogue including slang terms, colloquialisms, famous persons or events, double meanings, puns and other idiomatic or obscure references needing clarification for foreign audiences. These definitions are added directly to the final script underneath the dialogue.
Annotations are used to ensure the translation remains as true to the original language and text as originally intended.
